About

Allan Donsky

Allan Donsky was a pediatrician and a child and adolescent psychiatrist for 28 years and is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Calgary. Allan recently sat on the Core Committee of the Alberta Health Services Addiction and Mental Health Strategic Clinical Network (SCN). Currently, he is a consultant psychiatrist developing mental health programs for youth and adults at The Canadian Institute of Natural and Integrative Medicine (Cinim.org) where he is also the Board Chair.

Allan addresses contemporary mental health challenges that include languishing brought on by burnout, stress, and anxiety, while continuing to encourage personal transformative change in the service of integrative self-care and flourishing. He has purposefully dedicated himself to community outreach and capacity building, facilitating numerous workshops in academic settings, in not-for-profit agencies and leading community groups. As an educator on multidisciplinary teams, he mentors medical residents and runs workshops and seminars.  His current transtheoretical research interests lie at the interface of psychiatry, contemplative practices, and secular spirituality, and he has presented work in diverse conferences. His ongoing endeavours aim to enrich the individual and collective human experience of greater well-bein.
